Javea, on Spain’s Costa Blanca, is a popular place for British holidaymakers, and also for retires and anyone looking for a new home in the sun. For properties in Javea, see Javea-property.com.
The town is located conveniently close to Alicante and Valencia airports, however the main attraction is the long and sandy beach surrounded by a family-friendly shallow bay, with clean water and lifeguards for your safety. Javea has all kinds of property on offer; from the most luxurious villas to small compact studios and apartments. None are too far from those unique moments with the family on the beach; enjoying the sunshine, tapas in the local beach bars, or a wild night in the vibrant clubs like Mosquito, Achill and Capitan Quo.
Summer in Javea is bubbling with traditional fiestas, salsa and flamenco, live music and bull running through the streets (for the brave) up in the historic centre of Javea. This should be experienced though, it is addictive and draws you into a world where it is perfectly reasonable to be chased with live fireworks, and lighting giant fires in the middle of residential areas. Health and safety regulations do not apply to fiestas in Javea; if dangerous, bordering on the insane, activities freak you out, don’t attend. But you will be missing out on experiences simply unimaginable in most parts of the world.
If the beach is your main priority, then we recommend finding property in the Arenal; near the sandy white beach and the sea. This will be a perfect base for enjoying the warm sunshine and exploring the local culture.
Townhouses and apartments are available at much lower prices in the village than on the Arenal in old town; however most of them require speaking to the landlord in Spanish. The natural beauty of the Javea area is unparalleled as the charming town spreads out at the foot of the Montgo national park or the Grenadella cove; nice luxurious villas are available in both locations at relatively modest prices.
Whichever part of town you decide to look for holiday villas, apartments or townhouses, remember to ask for a specific location, as even a couple of kilometres can make a world of difference to the area you live in around Javea.
Further, the prices listed are always to be considered the starting point of a negotiation rather than a solid definitive; don’t be embarrassed to make an offer; this is expected and you will usually be able to come to an agreement that suits both parties. .
Don’t hold back though: Take your family to a place they will never forget this year. Javea is fun for all ages; vibrant, yet sporting tranquil spots of pure beauty. You will never regret going on vacation to the Costa Blanca and choosing Javea as your destination, or as your new home.
